Community of Practice Program Manager

The FHW Network is building a community of practice for those working with Frontline Health Workers (FHWs). One focus is to search for existing FHW programs, reach out to them, determine what they do, and what their needs are. We are currently seeking a program manager to lead this effort.

Start: Immediately

Compensation: Volunteer position, but will offer: 
  • Excellent social venture start-up experience
  • Management and leadership experience that is rare for young professionals
  • Position that focuses on developing contacts within and learning a lot about the FHW space
  • A great CV addition for a young professional or a really meaningful and valuable experience for those seeking a mid-career change or work in retirement.

Hours: 10-20 hours per week, ideally 40 hours per week in Summer 2012
Location: Remotely
Minimum Commitment: 6 months

Reports to: Executive Director
Managing: Community of Practice Researchers (approximately 3-5 part-time volunteers)

Position Goals: Orient, supervise, and lead team to:
  • Search for organizations implementing FHW programs
  • Determine an engagement strategy to best reach out to these organizations and build relationships with them
  • Work to document what these FHW programs do and what issues they are facing
  • Develop tools for implementers to engage with each other

Ideal Candidate:
  • Dedication to fields of global health and/or healthcare delivery
  • Awareness of or expertise in FHW/CHW sector
  • Able to work remotely, able to be a leader, able to function in a start-up
  • System-builder
