Policy and Advocacy Program Manager

The FHW Network is building a community of practice for those working with Frontline Health Workers (FHWs). One focus is to develop a knowledge base and networking tools for practitioners that are involved in FHW policy and advocacy efforts at the state, national, or global level with governments, funders, and within the medicals system. We are currently seeking a program manager to lead this effort.

Compensation: Volunteer position, but will offer:

  • Position that focuses on developing contacts within and learning a lot about policy and advocacy efforts within the FHW space

Hours: 10-20 hours per week, ideally 40 hours per week in Summer 2012
Location: Remotely
Minimum Commitment: 6 months

Reports to: Executive Director
Managing: Policy and Advocacy Researchers (approximately 5-10 part-time volunteers)

Position Goals: Orient, supervise, and lead team to:
  • Document the policy and advocacy issues facing FHW implementing organizations 
  • Document the ecosystem of policy and advocacy players in the FHW space
  • Document arguments and evidence to support FHW programs for different audiences
  • Build relationships with organizations involved in FHW policy and advocacy

Ideal Candidate:
  • Dedication to fields of global health and/or healthcare delivery
  • Awareness of or expertise with policy, advocacy, fundraising
  • Awareness of or expertise in FHW/CHW sector
  • Able to work remotely, able to be a leader, able to function in a start-up
  • System-builder
