Web Developer and Database Manager

The FHW Network is building a community of practice for those working with Frontline Health Workers (FHWs). This will involve building a web platform for knowledge dissemination as well a database to help index organizations, tools, studies, etc. We are currently seeking someone to lead our effort at creating this web platform and the database.

Start: Immediately

Compensation: Volunteer position, but will offer: 
  • Excellent social venture start-up experience
  • Web platform for knowledge dissemination will be a commodity unto itself making for a great CV addition 
  • A really meaningful and valuable experience to help improve healthcare delivery and make an impact toward global health equity

Hours: Initial build and then 5-10 hours per week
Location: Remotely
Minimum Commitment: 12 months

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Goals: 
  • Develop database and functionality for crowdsourced research teams to populate it
  • Develop web platform for knowledge dissemination
  • Develop website and take us from Google Sites to something more professional

Ideal Candidate:
  • Desire to make an impact in global health equity and/or to improve healthcare delivery
  • Experience with knowledge management web platforms for communities of practice
  • Ability to develop a system that will works for our complex and changing tag structure
  • Able to work remotely, able to function in a start-up
  • Highly skilled technically with databasing (Access, XML, EndNote, mySQL, Amazon DB Cloud, and/or Google SQL)
